I was in town for vacation, wanted pizza so took a gander at reviews on Michael Anthony's... at first I was thinking great another pizza joint in a strip mall.. WOW was I ever floored by the amazing quality and TASTE of the pizza and garlic knots!
We were met by employees greeting us and very friendly. Pizza had lots of cheese and pepperoni, but the crust was the bomb! Thin crust and cooked to perfection. If you're in the area don't be put off by a strip mall place, it's amazing!
FYI I also noticed local Police Officers eating here so I have to assume it was good and friendly. -

We found this place shortly after moving to the area last year. The original location was closed and we were disappointed because all we heard were great reviews about this place; turns out, they closed their old location and moved across the street into the Publix plaza. We stumbled upon it by accident when we were shopping for groceries. One of the best New York style pizza joints around! Great atmosphere too, makes you feel like you're in the Big Apple while you eat.

Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name....
We ate here twice, and by the second time, they remembered me and my drink preference. Possibly because they messed it up a little the first time, but still. That was impressive to me. I know I was in the south, but I drink unsweet tea. And I drink a lot of it. They were kind enough during both visits to bring me a pitcher to keep my drink replenished. Yay!
The pizza here is also great. Many toppings to choose from. Although I wish they offered spinach as an option (at least I didn't see it on the menu), there were still plenty of things that I found to put on my pizza. I highly recommend giving their meatballs a try. They come very thinly sliced on the pizza, yet they are full of delicious flavor.
Our service was sometimes hit or miss. It seems like they need to hire more help to keep the place clean and the patrons happy. The restrooms and the floors suffered a bit in the cleanliness department. But our overworked servers tried hard and were really great to work with. I just hope they get some relief soon! -

When I want Italian comfort food and a relaxed atmosphere I head to Michael Anthony's! Their new location is next to Publix on Suncoast Blvd. It is much bigger and offers a choice of dining in. One side offers a very causal no frills dining experience while the other side of the restaurant offers a little more fancy dining in experience. Both offer very, very good Italian food.
Everything came out hot and delicious!
We ordered cheesesteaks, house salad, chicken wings, disco fries (fries with brown gravy and melted cheese), garlic knots and shrimp scampi over linguine. Kids had the hot dogs and a small salad with ranch dressing. They chowed down. Cheesesteak sandwiches had plenty of fillings inside and bread toasted nicely. House salad was good size and Italian vinaigrette was tasty. Son in law really enjoyed chicken wings- too busy eating to give his opinion but did give a thumbs up! We all shared the Disco fries- a huge pile of hot fries topped with a generous serving of brown gravy (yum) and melted cheese- oh be still my heart! Even the grandkids dug into the fries and they're hard to please! Garlic knots- what's not to love?
Definitely a great place to take the family out to eat. Pasta cooked al dente (I'm a finicky person when it comes to pasta) and their tomato sauce is delicious! My daughter had the Shrimp Scampi and she said it was extremely good. Nice portion size and she even took some home! This is our new "go to" Italian restaurant in Homosassa and we will be going for our annual family Christmas dinner and lights night! -

Pizza...even when it's bad it's still pizza...This was not bad pizza, but it wasn't great pizza. I think it's a little overpriced for what you are getting from a quality perspective. I'm told some of the pasta dishes are excellent, but I have not had an opportunity to try any.
